Internet reports that it was learned on June 12 local time that the Texas Governor's Office released a message saying that Texas Governor Abbott deployed more than 2000 Texas Department of Public Security personnel and more than 5000 Texas National Guard soldiers across the state that day to "assist local law enforcement in responding" to protests against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and "maintain law and order."
