New York federal judge: OFAC sanctions history does not help Tornado Cash trial "
Federal Judge Katherine Polk Failla for the Southern District of New York ruled against discussing OFAC's history of sanctions against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm in the upcoming trial. The judge argued that explaining to the jury the process of sanctions imposed in 2022, lifted in March 2023 and ruled illegal by a Texas court would cause "confusion of mind," but left open the possibility of reopening the discussion if key evidence emerged.
