Musk's Neuralink joins bionic eye research
Internet reports that Musk's brain-computer interface company Neuralink is working with researchers in California and Spain to conduct a clinical trial to study visual prostheses. News of Neuralink's participation in the trial was disclosed in late July on ClinicalTrials, a government website that lists medical research. The study was sponsored by the University of California, Santa Barbara. According to the online description, the goal of the research is to "solve the basic problem of being able to develop intelligent bionic eyes." Researchers say the device will use artificial intelligence, which can help blind people recognize faces, navigate outdoors, read, etc.
