Brazilian government signs cryptocurrency transaction monitoring contract
Brazilian authorities are seeking a software solution to track the location and movements of various cryptocurrency projects across the country, Internet reports. The purpose of the proposal is to enhance the government's ability to combat cryptocurrency-related crimes. Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security has issued a contract announcement seeking a solution to better discover and track multiple cryptocurrency projects and their movements over the next 36 months. The notice stated that its goal is to "sign software contracts for locating, tracking and analyzing crypto-asset transactions based on blockchain technology to meet the needs of the National Public Security Secretariat and other participating agencies." The open contract will begin accepting proposals on July 4 next year and clearly states that the solutions will be rolled out in specific Brazilian cities, including 15 of Brazil's 27 state capitals.
