Meta spends millions of dollars to hold hands with Hollywood to push high-end VR headsets to challenge VisionPro"

Internet reports that according to the Wall Street Journal, Meta is seeking to partner with Hollywood to obtain exclusive content for its high-end virtual reality headset that it plans to launch next year. According to people familiar with the matter, the technology company has held talks with entertainment brands such as Disney and A24, as well as smaller production companies. Meta is willing to spend millions of dollars to purchase series or independent immersive video content based on well-known intellectual property rights. Meta hopes the content will attract consumers to the virtual reality device it plans to launch next year, which will compete with Apple's VisionPro. This new device, internally codenamed "Loma", is more powerful and has higher video fidelity than the current Meta Quest virtual reality headsets on the market. Its design is similar to a pair of large glasses, more like Meta's Ray-Ban AI glasses than the goggles used by Quest and VisionPro, and it connects to a small device that users can carry in their pockets. According to some people familiar with the matter, Meta plans to price the device for less than $1000, which is higher than Quest's $300 starting price but lower than VisionPro's $3500 base price.
