Early holders of Ethereum transferred US$2.2 million worth of "Genesis Coin" after 10 years of "holding the coin"
Online reports that blockchain data showed that an investor holding $2.2 million worth of Ethereum began transferring the tokens on Monday after he had left them idle for nearly 10 years. The holder originally received the 900 ETH in 2015, when the price of Ethereum was less than 50 cents. These are "Genesis coins", digital tokens born in the first block of Ethereum. Early contributors and developers to the project received these "pre-mined" ETH before Ethereum officially launched trading capabilities-it was worth only a few cents at the time.
