Online reports that Tools for Humanity, a company founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, announced the official introduction of its iris recognition authentication technology Orb device to the UK. Starting this week, London residents will be able to use the spherical scanning device to verify their identity, and the service will be expanded to multiple cities such as Manchester and Birmingham in the coming months. The technology scans the iris to create a digital certificate called "World ID", which aims to prove that users are real humans rather than AI.
