Bitfarms faces a class action lawsuit for failing to promptly disclose shortcomings in internal controls

On May 11, Globeneewswire reported that Nasdaq-listed mining company Bitfarms and some of its executives were faced with a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York by law firm Pomerantz. In March 2024, the company discovered a significant flaw in its internal financial reporting control, which was related to the company's classification of warrants in 2021. Bitfarms has always said it is taking remedial measures and said it will complete the remedial plan in 2024, which means that Bitfarms made material false and misleading statements about its business, operations and prospects, causing its share price to fall at the end of last year, suspected of violating U.S. securities laws.
