The number of models under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business umbrella is poised to nearly double next year, intensifying competition across electric vehicle (EV) segments.

In 2026, the HIMA portfolio is expected to exceed 17 models, and beyond existing offerings including Aito's M5, M7, M8, and M9; Stelato's S9T and S9; Maextro's S800; Shangjie's H5; and Luxeed's S7 and R7, all five brands will roll out new models next year, according to a report today by local media outlet 36kr.

Stelato is a new brand jointly developed by Huawei and BAIC Group. Aito belongs to Seres Group, Shangjie to SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), Maextro to Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), and Luxeed to Chery.

Seres is in discussions with Huawei to launch an Ultimate Edition of the Aito M9 next year, while the Aito M6 is also in the process of securing project approval.

For Luxeed, its S7 and R7 models will adopt new internal codes next year. Starting next year, these two vehicles will become entirely new projects, according to the report.

Luxeed will also introduce a large SUV tentatively named R9 and an MPV codenamed EHV, provisionally called X9.

Maextro will launch an MPV model and a luxury flagship SUV priced below the Maextro S800.

Shangjie will introduce a large SUV in the first half of next year and a sedan in the second half.

Should the Aito M9 Ultimate and Aito M6 also launch next year, the HIMA business unit will offer 19 models, the report noted.

Maextro's upcoming new SUV is poised to have the most direct impact on the industry, potentially reshaping the premium vehicle market landscape next year, 36kr said.

During product definition for this SUV, Maextro benchmarked against luxury cars like Land Rover's Range Rover and Rolls-Royce, the report cited a source as saying.

Huawei and JAC are highly confident in this SUV's market performance, signaling to the supply chain an expected monthly sales peak exceeding 40,000 units.

To meet the sales target, the SUV will be priced below the Maextro S800 but above the Aito M9.

The Maextro S800 starts at RMB 708,000 ($99,400), while the Aito M9 begins at RMB 479,800.

To ensure the new vehicle rivals Rolls-Royce in product strength, Huawei has packed nearly all its intelligent technologies into this SUV, the report stated.

In JAC's part, it halted numerous passenger car, heavy-duty truck, and light-duty truck projects to secure resources for the Maextro brand, according to the report.
