Ethereum developers discuss Free DA issues caused by EIP-7886 and solutions "
On May 6, Ethereum developer @nero_eth issued a post discussing "delayed execution and free DA issues." Delayed execution (EIP-7886) changes the verification process: the verifier verifies the validity of the block through pre-checks (e.g. nonce, balance) before the transaction is fully executed. If a transaction fails due to insufficient balance during execution (for example, transaction A exhausted the balance of account B, resulting in transaction B of B being unable to pay Gas), its data has been written to the block and processed by the verifier, but no fee has been paid. This leads to Free DA issues: invalid transactions consume data availability resources on the chain and the verifier is not compensated. The article proposes four solutions: optimistic authentication, pre-verification and pre-charging, and no operation at the pre-charging entity and execution layer. It ensures that data writing costs are costly through withholding fees, block reorganization or status rollback, and prevents network congestion and economic injustice caused by Free DA.
