Pulte said: "I ask Congress to investigate Powell for his political bias and deceptive Senate testimony-which would constitute 'justifiable reasons' for removing him." Pulte's report on the incident was forwarded by Trump and said Powell should resign immediately. Previous media reports said that the cost of the Federal Reserve headquarters renovation project continues to rise and includes a number of luxury designs. At a Senate hearing last week, Powell refuted parts of the report, saying it was "misleading and untrue in many respects."
