China's State Council Tariff Commission announced that starting from April 12, tariffs on US goods will be increased to 125%. A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce stressed that the US's repeated imposition of abnormally high tariffs on China has become a numbers game, which has no practical economic significance and will only expose the US's trick of instrumentalizing and weaponizing tariffs.
China has stated that if the US continues to play the numbers game of tariffs, it will ignore it, but if the US insists on infringing on China's rights and interests, China will resolutely counterattack. Under this influence, the market expects that US exports to China will be significantly impacted. China's Ministry of Commerce has taken a number of measures to alleviate the negative impact of the trade war, including building a platform for foreign trade enterprises to expand domestic sales and promoting the integration of domestic and foreign trade. Retail companies such as Yonghui Supermarket and Wushang Group took the lead in responding and proposed specific measures to help affected companies expand into the Chinese domestic market.
