Luxembourg issues 50 million euros in digital bonds

Internet reports that Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance used HSBC's Orion DLT platform to issue 50 million euros of digital treasury bonds. The bond will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with a zero-coupon and sold at a discount of 99.03% to face value, but can be redeemed at face value after six months. After Slovenia issued 30 million euros of bonds in July last year, this is the second European country to use DLT technology to issue bonds. One of DLT's biggest advantages is its faster and more efficient release, which makes it possible to reduce costs and increase transparency.
