Trump plans to revoke the Biden era's "AI technology proliferation control rules"
Internet reports that the Trump administration plans to comprehensively revise the artificial intelligence semiconductor export control regulations and abolish the regulatory framework that triggered strong opposition from U.S. companies and allies such as NVDA.O and Oracle.N during the Biden period. The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on Tuesday local time that it will revoke the "AI Technology Proliferation Control Rules" originally scheduled to take effect on May 15. The rules were introduced by former U.S. President Biden and divide chip importing countries into three levels. According to people familiar with the matter, the new government is drafting alternative plans and may shift to negotiating bilateral agreements with each country on a case-by-case basis. (Jin Shi)
