The world's richest man, Elon Musk, is involved in a whirlwind of love affairs and family drama, having fathered numerous children with multiple women. Some say he's built his own version of a harem!
Let's start with one woman...
Ashley St. Clair, a writer with a modest following, first met Musk in the spring of 2023. Shortly after, they began exchanging private messages, and Musk invited her to visit the offices of X's San Francisco office. Their relationship soon turned romantic.
Their first encounter was casual, but Musk joked about naming their future child. He frequently discussed having children with her, and months later, on a New Year's trip to St. Barts, she told him she was ovulating. Musk responded with what are we waiting for? and they conceived their son during that trip.
During the pregnancy, Musk gave St. Clair $2 million to cover pregnancy expenses, half of which was a "loan," including a $100,000 monthly security cost. Musk insisted on a C-section, claiming that natural birth would limit the baby's brain capacity, but St. Clair, a Jew, insisted on a natural birth. Musk also stated she should have 10 children.
After the birth, Musk proposed a deal: $15 million as a settling fee and $100,000 in monthly child support until the child turned 21, with the stipulation that she keep the father's identity confidential because Musk was "the second-most likely assassination target after Trump." If she broke the agreement, she'd have to return the full $15 million.
However, St. Clair refused to sign the agreement, citing that it didn't account for potential illness or Musk's premature death, nor did it include security costs. She took the matter to court, demanding a paternity test and fair child support. The test confirmed the child was Musk's, but Musk still canceled the $15 million agreement, reducing child support from $100,000 to $20,000 per month. Her lawyer fees now stand at $240,000.
Insiders reveal that during St. Clair's pregnancy, Musk was already looking for other women to bear his children to achieve a legion of offspring, even considering surrogacy. Ads for surrogate mothers appeared on X, Musk frequently interacted with lesser-known users and sometimes privately asked them to have his children. Musk, using his vast wealth, pressured women who bore his children to sign non-disclosure agreements.
For example, after FTX collapsed in 2022, crypto influencer creported on Sam Bankman-Fried's downfall, and Musk began liking and responding to her posts. As Fong posted more pro-Trump political content, Musk's interactions increased, and last summer, he followed her. Musk's huge following on X brought a surge of fans to Fong, earning her $21,000 in two weeks in November. Around this time, Musk privately messaged her, asking if she'd be interested in having his child. They never met in person.
Fong didn't proceed with Musk's request because she envisioned having children in a more traditional nuclear family, and shared the story with friends and media. Musk was angry, unfollowed her, and throttled her posts, resulting in a decrease in her income.
The Wall Street Journal revealed that Musk has at least 14 children by four different women, including pop star Grimes and Shivon Zilis, a high-ranking executive at his brain-machine interface company Neuralink. Several insiders close to Musk believe the number of Musk's children is far higher than publicly known.
Details of Musk's baby-making mission are only now coming to light. In February, Grimes pleaded with Musk for help on X when one of their children had a "medical crisis," but Musk didn't engage with her. A source familiar with Musk's agreement with his children's mothers said Musk believes it's best to handle such matters behind the scenes for the safety and security of his children.
Why does Musk want so many children? It ties to his ambition for NASA to expedite the journey to Mars. Musk has said that making humans a multi-planetary species is "crucial for the long-term survival of humanity and all known life." He has warned that civilization is going to crumble if more children aren't born.
Musk's worldview sees civilization under threat due to declining populations. Driven to correct this, he aims to seed the earth with intelligent offspring. Musk refers to his children as a "legion," reminiscent of the ancient Roman military units that contained thousands of soldiers.
Sources familiar with the situation also say Musk has expressed concerns that third-world countries have higher birth rates than the U.S. and Europe. Musk has repeatedly told those close to him that one of the most important ways to change this dynamic is for educated people to have more children.
Not only does Musk advocate for having more children, but he also encourages high-intelligence individuals to reproduce, which is perfectly exemplified by Shivon Zilis, the executive at Neuralink. Zilis, who has four children with Musk, said, "He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to."
Lastly, Musk's complicated love life, involving many women, cannot be separated from his personal manager, Jared Birchall. This former Morgan Stanley wealth manager handles Musk's business affairs, political donations, and even manages the "harem" matters—from arranging financial support to signing non-disclosure agreements, and even being involved in custody battles.
