Trump's eldest son: The family was blocked from banking services for political reasons, which pushed Trump's stance on cryptocurrencies to change
According to online reports, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Trump, revealed at the Bitcoin 2025 conference that after his family was blocked from banking services for political reasons, he and his brother Eric pushed for a change in his father's stance on cryptocurrencies. Trump Jr. said that his family's experience of being "completely blocked"(disruption of banking, insurance and other services) after 2016 made him realize the fragility of the traditional financial system. Although Trump once called Bitcoin a scam in 2021, he "quickly understood the technology" through the explanations of the two brothers.
