Opinion: Insufficient regulation of the crypto industry prevents digital assets from being truly adopted by institutions

Internet reports that at the Consensus 2025 conference, Kevin O'Leary Ventures, chairman of O'Leary Ventures, said: "I never thought I would say this, but I want more regulation, and I need it now." He believes that the lack of regulation makes it difficult for "sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and institutional investors" to invest in crypto assets on a large scale. He praised new SEC Chairman Paul Atkins for "having shown he is friendly to the crypto industry and will 'regulate accordingly.'" O'Leary also predicted that after the passage of the GENIUS Act,"a trillion dollars will pour into and indexation Bitcoin."
