Powell responds to building renovation

According to online reports, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell said in response to the White House budget director's concerns about the renovation of the Federal Reserve building that the Federal Reserve Committee believes that transparency is crucial; the review has continued since 2017, and the project inspector general is also reviewing the building renovation project. Cooperation with the National Financial Planning Commission is constructive and prudent, and this is voluntarily promoted by the Federal Reserve. The project changes since approval by the National Development Commission (NCPC) only reduce and simplify the construction content, do not add any new elements, and do not require further review. The project is large and involves major structural repairs, upgrades to safety and other systems, and the removal of asbestos and lead pollution.
