El Salvador's Finance Minister: No more Bitcoin purchases since February
According to online reports, El Salvador's Finance Minister and Central Bank Governor confirmed to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that since the signing of the financing agreement in February 2025, the government has not purchased bitcoins, the existing number of bitcoins has remained unchanged, and the relevant wallet address has been provided to IMF monitoring. This statement is inconsistent with President Bukel's public statement that "buys 1 Bitcoin per day." The IMF said the increase in Bitcoin balances only reflects internal consolidation and does not violate financing agreements.
