Cross-border Payment Connect will be launched on June 22, 2025

Internet reports that on the morning of June 20, the People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority jointly held a launching ceremony for the interconnection of fast payment systems between the mainland and Hong Kong. The People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority jointly promote and support the rapid payment system interconnection cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong (hereinafter referred to as Cross-Border Payment Connect) between the People's Bank of China's General Clearing Center and Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Company Limited. Cross-Border Payment Connect will be launched on June 22, 2025. The launch of Cross-Border Payment Connect will help improve the efficiency and service level of cross-border payments between the two places, facilitate economic and trade activities and personnel exchanges between the two places, and consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international financial center.
