Trump signs bipartisan bill to crack down on deep counterfeiting and online exploitation
Internet reports, Decrypt reported that U.S. President Trump signed into law the bipartisan Take It Down Act, which criminalizes the involuntary online posting of intimate images (including real images or AI-generated images) and deepfake pornography and requires major technology platforms to delete such content within 48 hours of receiving notice. First Lady Melania Trump called the bill a "national victory" for protecting children from online exploitation. Victims of deeply forged and retaliatory sex pornography will now be protected under U.S. federal law.
