According to online reports, Kwon Tae-hoon, chief financial officer of South Korean online bank KakaoBank, said during a first-half earnings conference call on Tuesday that the company is "actively considering" a role in stablecoin issuance and custody, and its participation is consistent with the country's changing digital asset policy. "We plan to actively participate based on market changes," Kwon said, adding that Kakao Bank's internal working group is working with other divisions in Kakao to consolidate the strategy.
