Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) announced it will launch the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version of its G7 SUV (sport utility vehicle) in the first quarter of next year, following the model's entry into a regulatory catalog earlier this week.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker today shared the first official images of the extended-range G7 variant on Weibo, calling it the newest member of its Super Extended-Range family.

"The Xpeng G7 Super Extended-Range Edition will set a new generation standard! See you in the first quarter of next year!" Xpeng wrote on Weibo.

The G7 EREV will utilize a 800-volt high-voltage platform architecture and a large battery supporting 5C ultra-fast charging, the company said.

It boasts an ultra-long pure-electric range of up to 430 kilometers and will feature cutting-edge AI technology, Xpeng noted.

On September 10, the G7 EREV appeared in a regulatory catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), revealing the five-seat SUV's dimensions as 4,918 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, and 1,655 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.

The length exceeds the 4,892 mm of the G7's battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant, while other dimensions remain identical.

The G7 EREV has a curb weight of 2,245/2,255 kg and supports a top speed of 202 km/h.

It features a 1.5L engine from Harbin Dongan Auto Engine serving as the range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 110 kW.

It utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Eve Energy.

Its battery pack capacity is 55.8 kWh, weighing 397.5 kg, providing a battery range of 325 kilometers, according to its declared specifications.

Xpeng's mention of a 430-kilometer range today suggests it may file for additional variants for the G7 EREV in the future.

The G7 is Xpeng's new model launched just this July, marking its first model equipped with the in-house developed Turing AI chip, boasting up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power.

Its BEV variant starts at RMB 195,800 ($27,490), offering a CLTC range of 602 to 702 kilometers.

Prior to the G7 EREV's launch, Xpeng will roll out the extended-range version of its X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in the fourth quarter of this year, which appeared in the MIIT's catalog last month.

Earlier today, local media outlet Cailian reported that Xpeng will launch an extended-range P7+ in 2026, with the hybrid sedan featuring a battery supporting 5C charging rates with an expected range of 400 kilometers.
