SFC extends the period for visiting professionals to provide virtual asset services to 45 days per calendar year

According to online reports, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission issued a circular on optimization measures to facilitate visiting professionals to conduct regulated activities or provide virtual asset services in Hong Kong. Currently, mobile professionals are allowed to conduct regulated activities or provide virtual asset services in Hong Kong for no more than 30 days in each calendar year, and their licenses will be subject to a condition in this regard (existing mobile professional conditions). In order to facilitate visiting professionals and allow them to more flexibly carry out the above-mentioned activities in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is now extending the relevant period to 45 days in each calendar year. The new conditions with the extended period apply to existing licensed mobile professionals. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will arrange for existing licensed mobile professionals to replace their existing mobile professional conditions with conditions with a 45-day period.
