Ethereum chain game Ember Sword announced its closure due to lack of working capital

According to Internet reports, according to Decrypt, the Ethereum chain game "Ember Sword" attracted US$203 million in revenue through NFT land sales four years ago, but now it has announced its closure. Developer Bright Star Studio said that due to failure to obtain the funds needed to continue operations, the game server has been permanently shut down and the relevant Discord channels have also been restricted. Project history shows that this MMORPG game attracted 35,000 players to purchase $203 million worth of virtual land NFT at its peak in 2021. The project advisory team includes industry veterans such as Rob Pardo, former chief creative officer of Blizzard. The game received poor response after it started closed testing in July 2024, and ultimately failed to reverse its decline after migrating to Mantle, the Ethereum Layer2 network. The market value of the game token EMBER has plummeted to US$80,000, down more than 96% from its peak.
