Reuters: Coinbase data breach linked to Indian outsourcer employees "
Online reports, Reuters reported that Coinbase learned in January that employees of its outsourcing company TaskUs in India had leaked customer data, partly related to a security incident involving the exchange's estimated loss of US$400 million. It is reported that a female employee of TaskUs used her mobile phone to shoot a computer screen and sold customer information to hackers with her accomplices in exchange for bribes. More than 200 employees were fired after the incident was exposed. Coinbase has cut off cooperation with the employees involved and other overseas agents and strengthened control measures. Coinbase was allegedly notified of the incident in January, but the company did not realize the seriousness of the situation until it received extortion in May.
