EU officials say they will go to the United States for trade talks on July 1 "

Internet reports that Chevcovic, Commissioner of the European Commission in charge of trade and economic security, said on June 30 that he would travel to Washington on July 1 for trade negotiations. U.S. President Trump threatened on May 23 to impose a 50% tariff on goods imported from the EU starting June 1. However, on May 25, Trump announced that he would extend the start of the 50% tariff on the EU from June 1 to July 9. Europe and the United States have since launched trade negotiations on tariff issues.
