Nvidia GTC Conference Technology Carnival Huang Renxun Announces Latest AI Chip
Nvidia Huang officially announced the launch of the new AI chip Blackwell at the GTC 2024 event, as well as a new network switch and supercomputer system designed specifically for AI
At the GTC conference on March 18, Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang presented the audience with his company's latest artificial intelligence (AI) chips.。
In this event, known as "AI Woodstock," large customers, partners and fans from all walks of life gathered together, and for Huang Renxun, as an influential "artificial intelligence business leader," he attracted thousands of viewers to participate in the technology feast as a host.。
Speakers at the event included senior management representatives from companies such as OpenAI, Elon Musk's xAI, Meta Platforms (META), Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT).。In addition, Nvidia's AI chip users such as L'Oréal, Lowe's, Jaguar Land Rover, Shell and Verizon Communications also attended the event.。Representative Ted Lieu of California in the U.S. House of Representatives will also attend a panel on AI regulation.。
According to the report, this GTC 2024 conference is the first time since the outbreak of the new crown in 2019 to return to the line.。GPUs in the GTC name refer to Nvidia's graphics processor chips, which have become the core computing power of the generative AI boom, supporting the highly complex calculations required by language robots such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.。
At the meeting, Huang Renxun detailed Nvidia's new generation of AI chips, Blackwell, and claimed that it would continue the success of the H100, which has been in short supply since the end of 2022.。He said that the "Blackwell" chip is faster and larger, and is expected to be available later this year.。
In addition, Huang also listed Blackwell's various applications for customers to develop and use AI systems, and also announced new network switches and supercomputer systems designed specifically for AI, all of which have new chips built into them.。The latest large-scale AI model takes just 90 days to train, uses 2,000 Blackwell GPUs and consumes just 4 megawatts of power。Using a previous-generation chip to complete the same training process would require 8,000 GPUs and 15 megawatts of power.。
UBS analysts estimate that Nvidia's new chips could cost up to $50,000, about twice the price of the previous generation.。
