Recently, people familiar with the matter said that Toyota plans to allow employees aged 65 to 70 to continue working at the company to alleviate labor shortages. Currently, Toyota employees can choose to retire at age 60 or work with the company until age 65 at half salary. The retirement age limit will be raised by five years in August.
According to data, Japan's working-age population is 73.952 million, a decrease of 256,000, accounting for 59.5% of the entire population, which has continued to be below 60% since 2018.
