Trump: If I had known that the U.S. president was a "high-risk profession", I might not have run in the first place
According to Internet reports, according to Kim Shi, U.S. President Trump talked about the high risk of the presidency at a White House press conference on Friday (June 28) local time, and disclosed for the first time the sequelae of last year's shooting. When reporters asked about the security threats he faced, Trump mentioned his experience of being scratched by a bullet at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024, saying that "it still hurts suddenly, but it's nothing. It's a high-risk profession." Trump also compared the risks of different occupations, saying,"The death rate for racing drivers is 0.1%, and the death rate for bullfighters is also 0.1%. This number may not seem high but it does exist. The president's death rate is as high as 5%. If someone had told me, maybe I would not have run. This is a dangerous profession." According to media reports, 4 of the 45 presidents in U.S. history were assassinated, and several other presidents and candidates were shot.
