Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has launched the updated X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in Malaysia, following last week's refresh of its G6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) in the Southeast Asian country.
The updated X9 starts at 279,888 Malaysian ringgit in Malaysia, just seven months after the previous generation was launched there in March.
The MPV is offered in Malaysia with Standard Range 2WD Pro, Long Range 2WD Pro, and Long Range 2WD Pro Plus variants, priced at RM 279,888 ($66,180), RM 297,888, and RM 313,888 respectively.
Their on the road prices without insurance are RM 280,708, RM 298,708, and RM 314,708 respectively.
The updated X9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and supports DC fast charging up to 317 kW, according to Xpeng Malaysia's website.
Its WLTP range is 500 to 590 kilometers.
The X9 was initially launched in China on January 1, 2024, as Xpeng's first MPV model.
On April 15, Xpeng launched the 2025 X9 in China, currently priced starting at RMB 359,800 ($50,500), making it Xpeng's most expensive model.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker is preparing to roll out an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version of the X9, which will be its first extended-range model.
The X9 EREV combines a 63.3-kWh battery with a 60-liter fuel tank to deliver a range of 1,602 kilometers, Xpeng announced earlier today on Weibo.
The G6 and X9 are currently Xpeng's only models available in Malaysia, and the updated G6 was launched there last week.
