Trump plans to issue an executive order to promote the development of artificial intelligence
According to online reports, according to four people familiar with the matter, the Trump administration is preparing a series of administrative measures aimed at providing impetus for the expansion of artificial intelligence in the United States. Sources said measures being considered include making power generation projects easier to connect to the grid and providing federal land to build data centers needed to expand artificial intelligence technology. According to data from power industry consulting firm Grid Strategies, between 2024 and 2029, U.S. electricity demand is expected to grow at a rate of five times that forecast for 2022. Consulting firm Deloitte reports that power demand in artificial intelligence data centers may increase by more than 30 times by 2035. According to people familiar with the matter, the government is considering putting high-maturity power generation projects ahead of the grid connection queue. The administrative order will also authorize the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior to use land under their jurisdiction for project construction. The government is also considering streamlining data center licensing by creating a national Clean Water Act licensing, rather than requiring companies to apply for licenses state-by-state. In addition, the White House is also considering designating July 23 as "Artificial Intelligence Action Day."
