According to online reports, TRON DAO issued a document on the X platform stating that its official account was hacked at 9:25 a.m. Pacific Time on May 2, 2025 (0:25 a.m. Beijing time on May 3). During the control period, the attacker posted posts with contract addresses, sent private messages, and followed unfamiliar accounts. The official emphasized that contract addresses are never published or private messages are proactively sent, and users who receive relevant messages on May 2 should immediately delete them and treat them as malicious acts. TRON DAO said that the incident originated from a social engineering attack on team members. Even if access was restored after the account was stolen, the attacker still tried to use the main account to publish content for profit. The incident is currently under investigation, relevant information has been submitted to law enforcement agencies, and accountability work is advancing.
