Galaxy Digital Research Director: Nine Senate Democrats oppose the current version of the GENIUS Act
According to online reports, Alex Thorn, director of research at Galaxy Digital, posted on X that nine Senate Democrats (six of whom are members of the Senate Banking Committee) have expressed opposition to the current version of the GENIUS Act (Senate stablecoin Act). The group said they were "unable to vote to end the debate" if the current version of the bill was submitted to the full Senate vote. Notably, the four signatories (Senators Rochester, Warner, King and Gallego) previously voted in March to support the bill's advancement in the Senate Banking Committee, but now say they will not support the bill in a full Senate vote without changes in the bill.
