US Senator Graham expects Senate to push Russia sanctions bill

Internet reports that Republican Senator Graham of South Carolina said that due to the lack of progress on the ceasefire in Ukraine, the Senate may "start taking action" next week to impose new punitive sanctions on Russia. Graham was the initiator of the sanctions bill and one of Trump's biggest supporters in the Senate. "That's enough, it's time for action," Graham told reporters during a visit to Kiev on Friday. "I expect the Senate to start pushing for sanctions bills next week." Graham said Ukraine have done everything the president has asked them to do. He also expressed disappointment that Russia would not let everyone know the agenda for the next round of peace talks. The next round of peace talks could take place in Istanbul on Monday. "There are some House members ready to take action in the House, and you will see action in Congress," Graham said. Graham said Putin tried to delay negotiations in the hope that Western allies in Kiev would tire and withdraw support. He said this approach was "a mistake."
