HKEX (00388.HK) released the Hong Kong's equity capital markets (ECM) landscape in 1H25.

Hong Kong's IPO fundraising reached US$14.1 billion in 1H25, up 6.95x YoY, far outperforming the 8% growth in total IPO funds raised across the world, according to statistics from data provider Dealogic.

Hong Kong's ECM activity surged in 1H25, driven by stronger investor sentiment and a steady stream of quality companies entering the market, HKEX added. Despite a volatile geopolitical backdrop, the HSI was the top performing index globally, rising by over 20% over the period, and average daily turnover (ADT) grew 82% YoY to $240 billion in 1H25.
