FTX lawyers challenged Three Arrow Capital's $1.53 billion claim and asked the court to reject it in full
On June 23, it was reported that FTX bankruptcy management lawyers recently objected to the US$1.53 billion claim filed by Three Arrow Capital (3AC) and asked the court to reject it in full. Lawyers stated that 3AC's losses were caused by market fluctuations and its own withdrawal of funds and had nothing to do with FTX. In March this year, the bankruptcy court approved 3AC to increase the amount of its claim from $120 million to $1.53 billion. In November 2024, 3AC claimed that FTX sold US$1.5 billion worth of assets two weeks before it started liquidation, citing new evidence. However, FTX lawyers countered that the claim was based on unreasonable premises, inaccurate data and neglect of facts. FTX pointed out that after the Terra crash in June 2022, the 3AC account balance was less than US$240 million, but instead of making up the margin, it withdrew US$18 million in ETH. FTX then liquidates $820 million in assets, avoiding a loss of $18 million when the account went bankrupt. 3AC has until July 11 to submit a response, and a hearing is scheduled for August 12.
