US SEC Commissioner: If Ripple settlement agreement is approved, it will undermine the SEC's legal credibility in crypto regulation."

According to online reports, Caroline Crenshaw, Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), publicly stated on May 8 that if the Ripple settlement agreement is approved, it will further weaken the SEC's legal credibility in crypto regulation and erode the court's role in interpreting securities laws. She criticized that such settlements had become a "chain of concessions" that harmed the interests of investors and caused the SEC's internal legal stance to continue to waver.
