Trump says Iran requests negotiations with the United States, Iran denies
According to online reports, the Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations stated through social media on June 18 local time that Iran had not requested negotiations from the United States and that U.S. President Trump's relevant remarks were "lies." Trump told the media at the White House that day about the military conflict between Israel and Iran that Iran wanted to negotiate and had expressed its willingness to come to the White House to talk. In response, Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations posted on social media that "no Iranian official has ever asked to grovel in front of the White House." Iran "will not negotiate under duress and will not accept peace under duress." Iran will respond to any threat with counter-threats and respond to any action with reciprocal measures."
