Cambodia announced that it had reached an agreement with the United States on tariff negotiations."

According to online reports, the Cambodia government announced on July 4 that it had discussed a joint statement with the United States and reached an agreement on the framework of a trade agreement on reciprocal tariffs. Details such as tariff rates have not yet been announced. Cambodia revealed that on the morning of the 4th, Cambodia Deputy Prime Minister Sun Zhanto and Sarah Ellerman, Assistant Representative for Southeast Asian and Pacific Affairs of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), held an online consultation. The joint statement will be announced soon. U.S. President Trump proposed a 49% equivalent tariff rate to Cambodia in April. This tax rate is the highest in Southeast Asia. Cambodia has a high proportion of exports to the United States in clothing and other aspects. If tariffs are imposed as planned, it will have a serious impact on the employment environment.
