Federal Reserve's megaphone: Core inflation rate will remain low for the third consecutive month in May
Internet reported that Nick Timiraos, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal who is known as the mouthpiece of the Federal Reserve, issued an article saying that economists who map CPI and PPI to PCE predict that core inflation will remain low for the third consecutive month in May. Core PCE forecast: +0.15%(even lower in May 2024, so year-on-year growth will rise to 2.6%); overall personal consumption expenditure (PCE):+0.12%(due to base effect, year-on-year increase to 2.3%). The annual rate of the core PCE price index in the United States for May will be released at 20:30 tonight, and many institutions generally expect a value of +2.6%.
