US Treasury Secretary: US will never default on its debt
Treasury Secretary Mark Besant said Sunday that the United States will never default on its debt as the Senate considers comprehensive tax and spending legislation passed by the House that includes provisions to raise the debt ceiling, the Internet reported. "The United States of America will never default." Besent said in an interview with Colombia Broadcasting Corporation (CBS). Bessent urged Congress to raise the federal government's debt ceiling by mid-July to avoid a default that could disrupt global markets.
