Michael Saylor forwarded false information about Trump's stance on cryptocurrency taxation
On October 31, MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor forwarded a false message about Trump's cryptocurrency policy to his 3.6 million fans on social platform X. The remarks claimed that Trump supported abolishing taxes on cryptocurrencies and said that "Bitcoin is money." After investigation, this false information originally originated from a post on the social account Basedkarbon on October 28. The message was subsequently forwarded by multiple well-known cryptocurrency social accounts, including Kraken and Bitcoin Archive. Trump did raise the idea of abolishing federal income taxes in a recent interview with Joe Rogan's podcast, but did not touch on the topic of digital assets.
