Analyst: Iran's reaction could hit global economy beyond oil
According to online reports, market analyst Shawn Donnan said Iran's initial response so far may be limited. But it is another reminder that the conflict could hit the global economy beyond oil in many different ways. The missile launch closed the airspace of Qatar and United Arab Emirates and disrupted commercial flights to Doha and Dubai. This is a temporary precautionary measure. If it is a one-time measure, things will quickly return to normal. But the two Gulf states are home to major aviation hubs, and if such an incident occurred the following summer, it would cause significant damage. That's not what global airlines already dealing with the impact of tariffs and slim profits want.
