Trump says he will increase tariffs on imported steel to 50% starting June 4
According to network reports, on May 30 local time, US President Trump said at a rally in Pennsylvania that he would raise tariffs on imported steel from 25% to 50%. Later, Trump posted on social media platforms that the decision would take effect from June 4. The White House said in a statement on social media that day,"To further protect the US steel industry from foreign and unfair competition, starting next week, US steel import tariffs will be increased from 25% to 50%."
