Republican senators consider setting a $30,000 SALT cap in Trump tax law

Online reports that a key Republican negotiator said Republican senators are considering capping state and local tax (SALT) credits at $30,000 as a compromise between current law and a more generous limit in the House version of Trump's tax code. Moderate Republican Senator Tom Tillis, who was involved in the negotiations, said Republican senators are trying to reduce the $40,000 SALT cap passed by the House to at least $30,000. (Jin Shi)
