Whistleblower warns DOGE or leaks personal information of more than 300 million Americans
According to online reports, Chuck Borges, senior data officer of the U.S. social protection Administration (SSA), pointed out in a whistleblower complaint that members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had uploaded a huge social protection database to a Cloud Virtual Machine, putting the personal information of more than 300 million Americans at risk. The whistleblower report, submitted to the Office of the Special Counsel and members of Congress, said the uploaded data included records of all social protection numbers issued by the federal government, as well as full names, dates of birth and other personal information. Borges did not state in his complaint that the database had been compromised. The SSA statement stated that "no damage to the environment has been found".
