Source: Trump will not make a decision on "shadow Fed chairman" in the short term

Online reports, according to foreign media reports, a source familiar with the White House review said on Thursday that US President Trump has not yet decided who will succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Powell and will not make a decision soon. The source downplayed the speed with which Trump might act. Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was considering nominating Powell's successor in advance, hoping that this person could immediately exert influence and persuade the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates as requested by the president. Chicago Fed Chairman Goolsbee said appointing a "shadow" chairman would not have any impact.
