Anchorage Digital announced the removal of USDC and other stablecoins, which was criticized by the industry
According to Internet reports, according to Cryptopolitan, federally chartered crypto bank Anchorage Digital announced that it will remove various stablecoins, including the widely used USDC, triggering industry criticism. Anchorage has released a "stablecoin security matrix" to assess the regulatory oversight and reserve quality of digital dollar tokens. USDC, Agora USD (AUSD) and Usual USD (USD0) fail to meet the company's internal standards and will be phased out. Anchorage is urging its institutional clients to turn to Global Dollar (USDG), a competing stablecoin issued by Paxos and backed by a coalition of which Anchorage is a founding member.
