Trump: No plans to fire Powell

According to Internet reports, US President Trump recently said: "Federal Reserve Chairman Powell has been acting too late and performing poorly. We will continue to meet challenges." Asked if he would fire Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, Trump said: "There is no plan. But there will be changes in the next eight months, and a person who has performed well will be appointed. We will consider Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council, for a relevant position at the Federal Reserve. I am only interested in a "low interest rate person" as chairman of the Federal Reserve."
